With 2017 right around the corner, many people are starting to think about changes or resolutions they want to make for the next year. If you are at a loss for what you want to change, here are a few safe driving resolutions for 2017.
- Seatbelts for all. Enforce a strict seatbelt rule in your car. You won’t drive until everyone is buckled up, no matter their age. You can also extend this to family pets and make sure they are properly secured, too.
- No more distractions. We all know that texting while driving is bad, but so is eating, putting on makeup, and simply talking on the phone, even if you have hands-free technology. In 2017, eliminate the distractions. Put your phone away and pull over if you need to do anything else.
- Make safety a priority. If you’re planning on buying a new car in 2017, make safety features a top priority. You should even consider adding any available active safety features for added safety on the road.
- Fill up more often. If you always wait for the low fuel light to turn on before getting gas, try to change that habit in 2017. Driving with low fuel can not only leave you stranded, but it can be bad for your engine, too. Try to fill up before you reach one-quarter of a tank.
