The Subaru Legacy has been a long-standing model in the packed midsize sedan segment but it never really stood out from the crowd, save of its standard all-wheel drive. The Japanese automaker is looking to change that with a few styling changes for the latest model. One of the centerpiece events of the 2017 Chicago Auto Show was the 2018 Subaru Legacy debut, which generated quite the buzz among enthusiasts.
The new Legacy’s front end offers a broader grille, new headlights, completed with LED running lights, and new bumper. A new bumper design, complete with integrated exhaust, adds hints of sophistication and sportiness to the rear of the car. The 2018 Legacy will see new wheel designs as well; the display model boasted twin five-spoke wheels.
Inside, drivers can expect a fully operation command center, so to speak. The standard 6.5-inch STARLINK infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Other apps include eBird, YELP, Quick Guide, eventseeker, and much more. Drivers can even upgrade to a larger eight-inch touchscreen display.
The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine offers 175 hp while the optional 3.6-liter six-cylinder offers 256 hp. While the powertrains come unchanged from previous years, braking and steering upgrades will make the new Legacy even more agile.
We here at Schlossmann Subaru City can’t wait for the arrival of the new Subaru Legacy!
