The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is ready to roll with a complete redesign that brought the changes drivers had been clamoring for. The overall styling remained the same for the most part, which means most of the changes come under the hood. Drivers can expect plenty of performance-oriented changes that are sure to make driving the redesigned 2018 Subaru Crosstrek more fun!
The most notable change for the 2018 model year is the standard all-wheel drive system that now features Active Torque Vectoring. Drivers will also enjoy a quicker steering ratio and revised suspension. Fortunately, the ground clearance remains unchanged, coming in at 8.7 inches.
The Crosstrek also grew by 1.2 inches in the wheelbase which has opened up more legroom. The cabin features an ergonomic design and seems more open compared to previous models. Noise-dampening techniques result in a quiet, refined ride.
As for technology, the eight-inch touchscreen features support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Subaru EyeSight system, which includes active technologies like Automatic Emergency Braking, comes standard as well. More features, including Automatic High-Beam headlights, will be available as well.
Under the hood lies a 2.0-liter BOXER four-cylinder engine that delivers an increased 154 hp. It comes mated to a new Continuously Variable Transmission. While no fuel economy figures have been released just yet, that combination is bound to result in an increase in efficiency.
Keep an eye out for its first appearance at the New York Auto Show in just a few days!
